There is always work to do, oysters must be constantly checked, graded, equipment maintained, lease post and rails maintained, punt and motors, shed neat and tidy.

Drying is essential with all the different methods used to grow oysters. Rollies must be turned and periodically dried to prevent over catch ( Barnacles and Small Back Muscle). Baskets washed, Pontoons trays washed to remove mud and dried.

?Mudworm? inhabits mud that collects on the top of the shell and can
eventually kill the oyster.

?Predators? include, bream and other fish, oyster pickers, ruthless and
unscrupulous humans.
